Wally is the Edison of the animal world. He's 10 in human years, is smart, inventive, extremely curious and has a passion for naming things. Although serious and a touch slow speedwise, Wally's mind works like lightning and he has been known to correct his teacher. He's the strategist of the gang and everyone goes to him when they have a problem to be solved.

Wally is very strong with powerful legs and digging claws - the bush equivalent of a bulldozer. He is also shortsighted but wears glasses he found in the dump. Wally often solves problems by building simple contraptions out of bush materials.

Kevin and Kristie both think Wally is their best friend and Wally expends a lot of energy trying to keep the two happy and keep the peace. Kevin owes Wally a lot of favours because Wally is usually the one who gets Kevin out of trouble.
